Student of Leon Bonnat, his meeting with Pissarro had a great influence on his work art.
Placed as fauve and impressionnist Lebasque had during his life an esteemed succes composed with nudes and young woman's portrait where the painter place his character's between light and shadow.
His wife and two daughters Marthe and Helen or "Nono" become his favorites models.
They will be often in his painting, and this character "Nono", Henri Lebasque's daugther, was probably executed around 1920.
We know many portraits of Nono performed during the same period : Nono with ombrella, Nono to the " bal costumé" of Paul Poiret - 1920 - Nono with " chapeau cloche ".
1924, wedding year for Nono with Jacques Lenoble, marked a turning point of Lebasque's carrier, he saw his favorit model going away.
From 1925 Lebasque find other models Claudine and Marie who replaced somewhere Marthe and Nono... but life is not there anymore.
