1803.<!--more-->Cette figure de printemps command\u00e9e par Monsieur Boutin, administrateur du tr\u00e9sor royal au d\u00e9partement de la marine, a \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9e par Monnot au salon de 1771 et 1773.Le sculpteur Edme Bouchardon 1698-1762 avait repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ce sujet, pour une niche de la fontaine de\u00a0Grenelle \u00e0 Paris. Le g\u00e9nie du printemps qui encha\u00eene de fleurs un signe du zodiaque, sera le th\u00e8me choisie par Monnot pour son concours de ma\u00eetrise, agr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;Acad\u00e9mie en 1769, il fut re\u00e7u \u00e0 la s\u00e9ance du 28 ao\u00fbt 1779. Martin- Claude Monnot pr\u00e9senta pour son morceau de r\u00e9ception une figure de printemps en marbre, suivant ce mod\u00e8le en terre-cuite qu&#8217;il soumis \u00e0 la compagnie, que celle-ci avait approuv\u00e9e. Ce groupe de printemps est apparu dans la vente du grand couturier et, collectionneur Monsieur Jacques Doucet, \u00e0 Paris en mai 1906.
